Organ Donation2007 Wisconsin Act 106, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Doyle on March 17, 2008, codifies the 2006 Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act (RUAGA) in the Wisconsin Statutes.

Virtual Charter SchoolsTo prevent virtual charter schools from closing, the legislature responded by enacting 2007 Wisconsin Act 222. Signed by Governor Doyle on April 7, 2008, Act 222 makes changes to charter school, open enrollment, and teacher licensing laws to allow virtual charter schools in Wisconsin to operate with public funding.

Repeat Drunken Driving Penalties Increased2007 Wisconsin Act 111, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Jim Doyle on March 18, 2008, increases penalties for repeat drunken driving offenders.

Scrap Metal Sales Regulations2007 Wisconsin Act 64, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Jim Doyle on March 11, 2008, requires scrap metal dealers to ask for identification and proof of ownership before purchasing scrap and certain other metal items.

Terminating Tenancy in Domestic Abuse Cases2007 Wisconsin Act 184, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Doyle on March 26, 2008, allows a victim of domestic violence to break a rental agreement if he or she feels that staying on the property is dangerous. The victim must be able to legally prove that either he or she or a child was under a threat of serious physical harm.

State Electrical Code and Electrician Licensing2007 Wisconsin Act 63, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Jim Doyle on March 5, 2008, requires the Department of Commerce to establish a state electrical wiring code, generally requires electricians to be licensed and registered, and provides for electrical construction inspections of all buildings, including private homes.

Emergency Contraception for Rape Victims 2007 Wisconsin Act 102, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Doyle on March 13, 2008, requires all hospitals to provide information and access to emergency contraception to victims of sexual assault. Plan B, an oral synthetic hormone, is the most common type of emergency contraception and is often referred to as the "morning after pill."

Ethics Regulation Reform2007 Wisconsin Act 1, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Jim Doyle on February 2, 2007, overhauls the regulation of elections, ethics, and lobbying in Wisconsin by merging the functions of the State Ethics and Elections boards into the new Government Accountability Board (GAB).

Medical Malpractice Limits: 2005 Wisconsin Act 1832005 Wisconsin Act 183, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Doyle on March 22, 2006, establishes a limit of $750,000 on noneconomic damages in medical malpractice cases. This replaces a lower limit which was struck down by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2005. In addition, the governor vetoed a bill earlier in the session which set lower limits than those enacted in Act 183.

Criminal Justice Reforms: 2005 Wisconsin Act 602005 Wisconsin Act 60, passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Doyle on December 16, 2005, makes a number of changes to the criminal justice system to reduce the likelihood of wrongful convictions.
